Hello everyone!

Black Belt testing is one of the most important and exciting events of the dojo year.  This is a special time for the candidates, and all the other students that have trained along side them on the journey.  Nobody passes a black belt test alone – it takes the dedication, spirit, and encouragement of an entire dojo community to make it happen.

This year, our black belt test is on Saturday, October 26th at our Headquarters school in Hillsboro, OR

The general schedule of events is listed here, but subject to change as the day evolves.  Some training and some candidates take more or less time than expected, so please arrive early to make sure you see all the excitement.

General Schedule

Brown Belt Training (Chaiobi-Kai) – begins at 10am and will last about 2 hours

*Note — Chai = Brown, Obi = Belt, and Kai = Association/group

Belt Testing to Follow after training at approximately noon to 1:00pm

Celebratory Potluck to Follow immediately after Black Belt Test

*Note — As always, this dojo event is only possible with volunteers!  Please come and help with setup, cleanup, and anything else that is needed.  No RSVP is required, but we do need main dishes, sides, salads and desserts.  The dojo will provide soda, water, ice, cups, plates, and utensils for the meal.
