Sensei George KotakaGeorge Kotaka Sensei was born on July 28, 1977, in Honolulu, Hawaii.  He began karate at age 3 under his father, Chuzo Kotaka Sensei.  George tested his skills on a national level at the 1988 AAU National Championships in Richmond, Virginia, where he won gold medals in kobudo, kata, and kumite.  In 1996, George made the USANKF national team.  Since then he has won at the WKF Jr. World, Pan American, Pan Am Games, World Collegiate, and most notably, two World Karate Federation gold medals and a bronze medal.  His last competition was the 19th WKF World Championships held in Tokyo, Japan, on November 15, 2008. After Tokyo he retired from competition.  Since then he has devoted his time to teaching his students in hopes of a future champion in the years to come.  George credits his father and his mentor John Limcaco Sensei, as being most inspirational to him.  George currently teaches at 5 different dojos on the island of Oahu and travels around the world to conduct seminars.
